IMDG – Transport of dangerous goods by sea

About the Training
The Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG) course is the minimum required training for employees involved in handling, preparing, or inspecting dangerous goods transported by sea. The training meets the training requirements set out in Chapter 1.3 of the IMO IMDG Code.

Who Should Attend?
This course is intended for employees of shippers, agents, stevedores, cargo handlers, freight forwarders, port workers, and shipping companies involved in preparing or inspecting dangerous goods for maritime transport.

Training Duration

• Basic Training:
  3 days classroom-based or e-learning (depending on the course format)
• Refresher Training:
  2 days classroom-based or e-learning (depending on the course format)

Course Materials
The training is delivered based on the most recent edition of the English-language IMDG Code. Participants receive a comprehensive course manual in which the subject matter is clearly explained. Depending on the training format, the IMDG Code may also be available as a PDF download at the start of the course. Printed versions are optionally available through Special Cargo College.

Practical Information

• Certificate valid for 2 years
• Includes coffee, tea, and lunch (for classroom training) 
• Free parking and Wi-Fi (for classroom training) 
• Available in English and Dutch
