The safe and efficient transportation of dangerous goods by air requires competent personnel, meaning that employees must be trained in the functions for which they are responsible - whether or not this is stated in the job description. This is best achieved through competency-based training and assessment (CBTA).
For whom?
This course is recommended for 'Personnel Responsible for the Planning of Aircraft Loading' as per IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.6 in IATA's 'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance'.

Course content
The key topics that are covered during this course include:
- understanding the basics of dangerous goods;
- recognizing dangerous goods;
- identifying forbidden and hidden dangerous goods;
- applying operator’s requirements in acceptance of baggage;
- reporting dangerous goods incidents and undeclared dangerous goods.
Course materials
- The E-learning is interactive where possible accompanied with images, making the explanations easy to follow.
- If desired, the course can be interrupted at any time. If the course is then restarted, it continues where it left off.

- Course constist out of 2 to 4 hours of e-learning.

Het veilig en efficiënt vervoer van gevaarlijke stoffen door de lucht is afhankelijk van competent personeel, hetgeen betekent dat het personeel moet zijn opgeleid in de functies waarvoor zij verantwoordelijk zijn - ongeacht of dit al dan niet in de functieomschrijving staat vermeld. Dit wordt het best bereikt door een op competenties gebaseerde opleiding en beoordeling (CBTA).
Voor wie?
Deze cursus wordt aanbevolen voor "Personeel dat verantwoordelijk is voor het aanvaarden van passagiers- en bemanningsbagage, het beheer van instapzones van vliegtuigen en andere functies waarbij rechtstreeks contact met passagiers plaatsvindt op een luchthaven", volgens IATA\'s DGR - sectie 1.5 en in overeenstemming met functie 7.5 in IATA\'s \'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance\'.
Voorheen was deze opleiding bekend als categorie 9 in de trainingsvoorschriften van de IATA DGR.
Inhoud van de cursus
De belangrijkste onderwerpen die tijdens deze cursus aan bod komen, zijn onder meer:
- verkrijgen van inzicht in de basisprincipes van gevaarlijke goederen;
- herkennen van gevaarlijke goederen;
- identificeren van verboden en verborgen gevaarlijke goederen;
- toepassen van de eisen van de exploitant bij het accepteren van bagage;
- rapporteren van incidenten met gevaarlijke goederen en niet-aangegeven gevaarlijke goederen.
Cursusmateriaal
- De E-learning is waar mogelijk interactief en voorzien van afbeeldingen, waardoor de uitleg goed te volgen is.
- Desgewenst kan de cursus op elk moment worden onderbroken, als de cursus daarna opnieuw wordt gestart gaat deze verder op het punt waar men gebleven is.
