The safe and efficient transportation of dangerous goods by air requires competent personnel, meaning that employees must be trained in the functions for which they are responsible - whether or not this is stated in the job description. This is best achieved through competency-based training and assessment (CBTA).

For whom?
This course is recommended for 'Personnel Responsible for the Planning of Aircraft Loading' as per IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.6 in IATA's 'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance'.
Previously covered under category 10.

Course content
The key topics that are covered during this course include:

  • understanding the basics of dangerous goods;
  • recognizing dangerous goods;
  • identifying forbidden and hidden dangerous goods;
  • applying operator’s requirements in acceptance of baggage;
  • reporting dangerous goods incidents and undeclared dangerous goods.

Course materials

  • The E-learning is interactive where possible accompanied with images, making the explanations easy to follow.
  • If desired, the course can be interrupted at any time. If the course is then restarted, it continues where it left off.

Duration of course

  • Course constist out of 2 to 4 hours of e-learning.
