IATA 7.2 – Accepting general cargo shipments

About this training

Previously covered in Category 4, 5, 7 & 8 and known by the name 'Dangerous Goods by Air - Awareness'.

The safe and efficient transportation of dangerous goods by air requires competent personnel, meaning that employees must be trained in the functions for which they are responsible - whether or not this is stated in the job description. This is best achieved through competency-based training and assessment (CBTA).

For whom
This English course is recommended for 'Personnel responsible for the handling or acceptance of goods presented as piece goods' according to IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.2 in IATA's Dangerous Goods Training Guidance.
This training was previously known as categories 4, 5, 7 & 8 in the IATA DGR training requirements and under the name as Bewustwording Luchtvervoer Gevaarlijke Stoffen.

Course content
The main topics covered during this course include:

  • Understanding the basics of hazardous materials and goods
  • Recognizing dangerous goods
  • Indicators in documentation of undeclared dangerous goods and substances
  • Reporting accidents involving dangerous goods

Course materials

  • This course does not require the student to have access to the IATA DGR
  • The E-learning is interactive where possible accompanied with images, making the explanations easy to follow
  • If desired, the course can be interrupted at any time. If the course is then restarted, it continues where it left off

Duration of course

  • Course constist out of 2 to 4 hours of e-learning.
