IATA 7.10 – Security personnel

About this training

The safe and efficient transportation of dangerous goods by air requires competent personnel, meaning that employees must be trained in the functions for which they are responsible - whether or not this is stated in the job description. This is best achieved through competency-based training and assessment (CBTA).

For whom
Airport or ground personnel and security service providers involved in screening baggage, cargo, and mail, as well as managers and supervisors of security operations, in accordance with subsection 1.5 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and function 7.10 in IATA's Dangerous Goods Training Guidance.

Course content
The main topics covered during this course include:

  • Understanding the basics of dangerous goods
  • Handling/accepting cargo
  • Accepting baggage from passengers and crew
  • Collecting Safety Data

Course materials

  • The E-learning is interactive where possible accompanied with images, making the explanations easy to follow.
  • If desired, the course can be interrupted at any time. If the course is then restarted, it continues where it left off.

Duration of course

  • Course constist out of 2 to 4 hours of e-learning.
